Burial: Crab Orchard Cemetery, Crab Orchard, KY
Visitation: begins at 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the church
Christine Reid, 95, was born December 14, 1928, in Lincoln County, Kentucky to the late Morris and Anna Bell Ross. She passed away peacefully on March 20, 2024 at Landmark Nursing Home in Lancaster, Kentucky.
Christine received her education in the Lincoln County school system and worked at Ft. Logan Hospital for 31 years before her retirement. She will be remembered as a loving person who loved and enjoyed her family and friends. Christine was a faithful member of First Missionary Baptist Church, Stanford, KY where she served as Treasurer of the Mission Board and member of the Usher Board. She also worked in the community, Pansy Club, Volunteer Greeter at Ft. Logan Hospital.
She is preceded in death by her husband, George T. Reid, Jr., a brother, Morris Ross, Jr., a sister, Mae France Gant, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, George T. Reid, Sr. and Virginia Reid, also aunt, Mary Reid.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Judy (George, Jr.) Higgins and Wanda V. Reid; her sister, Anne C. Sleet; grandson, Dr. George (Kathy) Higgins, III; great grandchildren, Ian Vanover and Isabella Higgins; aunt, Virginia Bright Smith; host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Although I have never met you but seeing your picture it sends me comfort to know that you are beautiful and very much loved by your family and many friends. My dearest friend Vanessa Anderson whom I have known since 1995 when I started working for the VA. and now both of us retired we stay in touch and celebrate our birthdays together. We don't know when it's our time to go, but God lets us know not to be afraid that there is comfort. Christine Reid you are loved by all. God takes Christine in his crook of his arm that all is good.
