Vallie Beatrice Conerly Mikell

Heaven Sent: February 11, 1932 Heaven Bound: November 22,2019

On Friday, November 22, 2019 at 5:25 am, God in His infinite wisdom called to eternal rest our beloved mother, Vallie Beatrice Mikell, at the age of 87. Her loving family was by her side. Ms. Vallie B., a bouncing baby girl, was born on February 11, 1932 to the late Lillie Mae & John Conerly in Oakvale, Mississippi. She was the second of nine children.

Vallie B. attended New Zion School in Oakvale, Mississippi. She was a dedicated employee at New Orleans Furniture in Columbia, Mississippi for thirty-eight years and Universal Handbags & Furniture for five years. Vallie B enjoyed traveling, cooking and taking care of her family. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Vallie was married to Langston Mikell and to their union ten children were born.

At an early age, she joined New Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Oakvale, MS. Later in her adult life she became a faithful and dedicated member of John the Baptist Church until her health failed.

Vallie B. was preceded in death by her mother and father, children Damon and Randall; grandchildren, Santandra and Curtis; great grandchild, Halle; sisters, Almeda, Mary and Juanita; and brothers, Jessie and Willie Ray. Vallie B. leaves her earthly family to cherish her memories; daughters, Bettie Harvey, Janice (Albert) Preston, May Fortenberry, Jacqueline (Buford) Foxworth, Demetra Warren, Patricia Mikell and Tinkie Sheridan; one son, Johnny (Sherry) Mikell; one sister, Martha Watts; brothers, David Aultman, Earl Aultman, and Moselle (Marcy) Aultman; twenty-eight grandchildren, great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
