Findrix A. Bowers Jr. also known to many in the city of Nashville as "Camera Man" passed away Sunday, April 16th at the age of 77. For four decades, from his time at National Shirt Shops on 5th Ave in the late 60's to over 30 years with the state of Tennessee on Deaderick Street, Findrix captured the scenes of downtown Nashville and it's people through his uniquely fashionable lens. He could frequently be spotted in his favorite places around the city like the Nashville Arcade, Wolf Camera, popular night spots and at some of our biggest concerts photographing great R&B legends like Frankie Beverly and Maze, Luther Vandross, Brian McNight and more. No matter where it was, Findrix was easily recognized with camera in hand, dressed in a bold colored, highly stylish suit with matching shoes and brimmed hat doing what he loved; taking pictures. His memory will be forever cherished by his sister and brother Celia and Timothy Bowers, Children: Cassandra, James, and Findrix III, their mothers: Ms. Racine Felton and Mrs. Jacqueline Bowers, stepchildren: Tiffany (Latourous) Pritchett and Michael Jones, grandchildren: James Jr., Joshua, and Donovan, his nieces and nephew, and a host of cousins and close family friends.
