Adrienne Johnson walked into the Star Center for Learning on a rainy Saturday morning to interview for the position of Behavior Specialist. I asked her several questions and as we talked I found Adrienne's personality and her experience working with students was well suited for the job. After the interview was over I informed Adrienne she was hired and the sun begins to shine. Adrienne's response was, "That a glorious sign because the sun is now shining." During the course of working together, we would often laugh at how the sun came out the day Adriene was hired. I appreciated always her sense of humor. Adriene was always working on some type of goal whether for self-improvement or for the students. She was able to relate to the students on all levels. She was a wonderful person, counselor, and friend. She never passed judgment about your past. She served diligently at the Star Center and never met a stranger. Andrienne Johnson will truly be missed by everyone she came in contact with. Rest Adrienne, your work on earth is done. Laurine Hilliard,former Direcor of the Star Center

Johnson family, may the peace of God that surpasses all understanding be with you during the difficult days ahead. Adrienne was my dorm counselor when I was a freshman at SCSU and as God would have it, we would reconnect and I'd get the opportunity to work with her everyday at the Star Center. To know her was to love her. Such an awesome spirit full of laughter and love. The Star Center for Learning will never be the same. Her presence, jokes, and larger than life personality will definitely be missed. Our kids have indeed lost a champion and we have lost a warrior!
