Funeral services for Ms. Annie L. “Baby Rae” Busby, 81, of 2018 Ott Street, Orangeburg, will be held 11:00am, Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Emmanuel AME Church, Cope, SC, with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Archie Fair is the eulogist, and Rev. Timothy Johnson, Sr. is presiding.
Mrs. Annie Laura “Baby Rae” Wolfe Busby, daughter of the late Georgia Mae (Willie Lee) Porter and Edgar (Madell) Wolfe, was born on June 27, 1942, in Cope, SC. She was married to the late Mackie Lee Busby. She entered eternal rest on Friday, August 18, 2023.
Annie Laura attended Carver School. She had a passion for cooking. She worked at Alexander’s Restaurant, Fatz Café and several other businesses.
She was preceded in death by three sisters: Margaret (James) Simpson, Jeanette Thomas and Rosella (John) Darby; and one brother, Jimmy (Mary) Porter.
She leaves to cherish fond memories, two sons: Edgar (Vernell) Wolfe and Morris (Charlotte) Wolfe; three daughters: Maxine (Bernard) Bonaparte, Priscilla Busby and Jacqueline (Tyrone) Jones; one sister, Willie Mae (John) Fair; one brother, John (Henrietta) Porter; brother-in-law, Freddie Thomas; six adopted sons: Rev. Archie Fair, Julian Fair, John Albert Fair, Mervin Johnson, Alfred Parker and Tommy Gaffney; two adopted sisters: Estell Sistrunk and Dr. Albertha Krakue; four adopted daughters: Constance C. Brabham, Yvonne Davis, Vivian Ryant and Mary S. Parker; eight grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and a host of other loving relatives and dear friends.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 22, 2023, from 12:00pm - 6:00pm.
Family and friends may visit the residence, 2018 Ott Street, Orangeburg or call Simmons Funeral Home and Crematory of Orangeburg.
