Memorial services for Mr. Tony R. Jackson, 68, of 638 Clinton St., Orangeburg, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 14, 2019 at North Orangeburg United Methodist Church, 950 Cook Rd., Orangeburg, SC. The Reverend Anna G. Miller is officiating.
Mr. Tony Robert Jackson, son the late Arthur Mae and Thomas “Tom B” Jackson, was born December 26, 1950 in Orangeburg, SC. He departed this life on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at The Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg, South Carolina.
Tony was a 1969 graduate of Wilkinson High School and attended Orangeburg Calhoun Technical College in Orangeburg, South Carolina.
He relocated to New York in 1970. He worked in maintenance for more than 40 years in New York.
Tony never left anyone that was in his presence without a smile on their face. He was the light in a room.
Tony was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia J. Jackson, and a son, Laquardia Boneparte.
Tony leaves to cherish his memory: one son, Cori T. Jackson; one daughter, Tonya J. Burnette; one twin brother, Thomas R. (Cynthia) Jackson; two sisters-in-law: Roselyn Johnson Snell and Doris Johnson (Willie) Felder; seven grandchildren: Tionis Jackson, Antonio L. Boneparte, Alijah L. Boneparte, Alexander L. Boneparte, Taryn Jackson, TaiShawn Jackson and Tyler Jackson; one great-grandchild, Loghan Davis; one special goddaughter and caregiver, Yolanda Snell; reared as children: Jalona Murray and Robert Irvin; special brother, Henry Foster (Ruth) Bowman III; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Family and friends may call at the residence of his sister-in-law, Mrs. Roselyn Johnson Snell, 876 Bryan Dr., Orangeburg or Simmons Funeral Home and Crematory Orangeburg.
I thank you so much Mr. Tony for your many words of encouragement and comfort during my dad's illness. I also thank you and your brother, Thomas, for your love and support during my father's passing. We appreciated your physical presence and love shown toward my family. May God grant your family comfort and peace during this time of loss.
