Obituary For Mr. Edward McCloud

Funeral services for Mr. Edward N. McCloud, 82, of 1655 Central St., Orangeburg, will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Simmons Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel, 2868, Columbia Rd, Orangeburg, with interment to follow in the Orangeburg Cemetery. Bishop H.T. Gainey is officiating.

Mr. McCloud passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at his residence.

Mr. Edward (Eddie) Nathaniel McCloud, son of the late Mr. Justin McLeod and Mrs. Geneva Blount was born on March 10, 1937 in New York, New York. He departed this life on June 11, 2019 at his residence in Orangeburg, South Carolina after an extended illness.

At an early age, he was christened Catholic and maintained his affiliation until moving to South Carolina in 2006. He graduated from Chelsea Vocational High School in New York, NY. He retired from the United States Postal Service after 31 years of service. Eddie loved deep sea fishing, eating good food, baseball and spending time with his family.

He leaves to cherish his memories: Two daughters, Elaine McCloud, Columbia, SC, COL (R) Sherry McCloud, Atlanta, GA; Three brothers-in-law, Mr. James Spells, Mr. Johnny Simpson and Mr. Franklin (Doris) Simpson, Cordova, SC, One sister-in-law, Ms. Catherine S. Green of Cordova, SC, his care giver for the past eleven years, Mrs. Heather Conner, Orangeburg, SC, a special young man he thought of as a son, Mr. John (Tut) E. Pough, Cordova, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm Friday, June 14, 2019.

Friends may call at the residence of his daughter, Ms. Sherry McCloud, 1655 Central St., Orangeburg or Simmons Funeral Home and Crematory of Orangeburg.
