Obituary For Mr. Carl Leonard Green, Sr.

Memorial services for Mr. Carl Leonard Green, Sr., 68, of 407 Deerbrook Lane, Orangeburg, SC will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Simmons Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel, Orangeburg, SC. Reverend Nathaniel Bonaparte is officiating.

Carl Leonard Green, Sr. entered eternal rest on July 16, 2022 at his residence.

He was born on May 8,1954 in Orangeburg, South Carolina to Sadie R. Green and the late, Wilbert Green. Carl was reared by his grandmother, the late Beatrice Amaker.

Carl attended and graduated from Orangeburg County Public Schools. He received an Associates Degree in Industrial Engineering from Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College in May 2001. Carl worked for many years at Utica Tools and he later became a foreman at American Koyo. In his later years, Carl worked and retired from Allied Air. Carl married Henrietta “LaShell” Green on April 13, 1995. To this union, they were blessed with two children, Chana and Carl, Jr.

Carl was a very skilled laborer and an active outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening at every opportunity. He liked sports and was a huge Giants fan. Carl was a very affectionate man with a great love for his family and friends.

Carl leaves to cherish, his wife, LaShell Green of 27 years; his mother, Sadie R. Green of Orangeburg, SC; two children Chana (Andre) Gardner of Savannah, GA and Carl Leonard Green, Jr. of Columbia, SC; Six sisters: Evelyn Amaker of Cope, SC, Cynthia (Frank) Lawson of McDonough, GA, Gwendolyn Sharp of Columbia, SC, Zandra Felder of Raleigh, NC, Stephanie Green and Nicole Dunning both of Orangeburg, SC; an uncle, Lin (Carolyn) Amaker of Orangeburg, SC; two great grandchildren, Carl Leonard Green, III, and Xzaivyan A'mariae-Leonard Green both of Columbia, SC; a very special family friend, Ken McDowell and a host of other relatives and friends.
