Obituary For Mr. Gerry Adams, Sr.

The funeral services for the late Mr. Gerry Jermaine Adams, Sr. of 304 Foxfire Drive, Albany, Georgia, who departed this life on Monday, May 13, 2019 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia, will be held on Monday, May 20, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. from the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia with the Pastor, Dr. Daniel Simmons, Presiding and Reverend Charles L. Carr, Jr., delivering the Eulogy.

Burial will follow in the Shepard Memorial Garden Cemetery in Sylvester, Georgia. Gerry Jermaine Adams, Sr. was born December 10, 1973 to the late Charlie Adams and Ira Bell Adams in Worth County, Georgia, were he attended Worth County Public Schools, graduating from Worth County High School in 1995. Upon graduation, Gerry joined the Army. He later married Sharonda Foggy, the union was blessed with five children and one grandchild.

During his healthier years, Gerry worked as a security guard and warehouse worker. He was baptized at , Johns Island Church of Christ, where he became a member. After health issues, he worked his most important job, a stay at home dad. Gerry took pride in his children.

He dearly loved his “babies” and took pride in showing pictures of his children. He loved to help his kids with homework, especially, history. He was the person to go to for advice and if you needed to talk. He loved cooking and duplicating his mama’s recipe. Everyone loved his dressing during the holiday season. On May 13, 2019, Gerry was called home to rest. Gerry leaves to cherish his memories, his daughters, Asia Adams Walker (Kelly), Victoria Adams, and three sons, Gerry Jermaine Adams, Jr., Joshua Emmanuel Adams, and Jeremy Charlie Adams all of Fort Worth, Texas. One Granddaughter, Londyn Ivy Adams. His mother, Ira Bell Adams, Six brothers, Willie Adams (Martha), Ira Lee Adams (Patricia) of Sylvester, Georgia, Stanley Adams of Irving, Texas, Antwan Adams (Janeika), and Javoris Adams, of Albany, Georgia. Seven sisters, Charlie Mae Adams, Angela Downs, Cynthia Adams, Patricia Adams, Thelma Adams Johnson, Tabitha Adams, and Yeshika Adams-Mann (Brian) all of Albany, Georgia. A host of nieces and nephews who loved him dearly and to whom he was simply known as Uncle Gerry. He also leaves behind his second family. His grandparents Herbert Roper and Elnora Roper. Parent In laws, late Haywood Foggy and Angeline Foggy. His four sisters, Swarkena Foggy, Elnora Foggy, Faith Foggy and brother Haywood Foggy. Host of nieces and nephews who loved him.
