Mr. Eddie Gene Moore, also known as "Moe", "Genie Boy", "Mr. Eddie", or simply "Dad", was born on August 7, 1956 to Mr. Linwood Moore and the late Mrs. Lydia Ware Moore in Baker County, Georgia. In 1957, he moved to Newark, New Jersey, and was baptized at an early age at Mount Calvary Baptist Church. He attended Barringer High School and graduated in 1974. He was then employed with his cousins Champ and Menette at Champs Auto Shop, where he found an interest in auto mechanics and drag racing. He was known as “Blue Goose 646”.
As a young boy, Eddie's cousin, Charles Childs, introduced him to horses, and Eddie developed a strong passion for the cowboy lifestyle. Throughout his years he perfected his craft as a "Black Cowboy" on the East Coast, through the buying, training, and selling quarter horses from New Jersey to the Midwest. He also competed in team penning competitions up and down the east coast, winning many trophies and buckles.
During his later years, Eddie took pride in his position as Supervising Lieutenant for Dynamic Security, Inc. at the Department of Family and Children Services building in Dougherty County, Georgia. During his tenure, everyone grew to love Mr. Eddie.
Eddie met the late Lorraine Askew Moore at an early age where they later became a couple and had two children, Tariq and Terrance. Years later, they relocated to Albany, Georgia where they later got married. The couple built a home and life together. When you saw one, you saw the other. They were inseparable, and had a bond like no other.
Eddie was called home to eternal rest on September 11, 2021. He was preceded in death by his wife Lorraine Askew Moore and his mother Lydia Moore.
Eddie leaves to cherish his loving and fondest memories: his two sons, Tariq (Tanise) Moore, Terrance (Ebony) Moore; grandchildren Brandan, Kaden, Tristian, Trinity; his father, Linwood Moore, his one sister, Linda, 5 brothers Lynwood “Chubby”, Wayne, Tony, Terry, and Chris, and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
