The funeral services for the late Deacon William Henry Dennis, Sr. of 511 E. 13th Ave., Cordele, Georgia, who departed this life on Friday, March 3, 2023 at his residence, will be held on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from the Madison Avenue Church of God by Faith in Ashburn, Georgia, with the Pastor, Elder Dr. Larry Coffee, delivering the Eulogy. Burial will follow in the Westview Memorial Cemetery in Ashburn, Georgia. Mr. William Henry Dennis Sr. was born February 15, 1928 in Worth County, Georgia. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph and Annie Dennis.
At an early age, William confessed his faith in Jesus Christ; later in life, he joined the Madison Avenue Church of God by Faith under the pastorate of Elder Dr. Larry Coffee, where was ordained a Deacon. He was a faithful member, always attending and working for his Lord.
William was united in Holy Matrimony to Frankie Ezell. He worked as a truck driver for LaSalle-Deitch until he retired.
Our Love One’s time upon this earthly realm came to a close on March 3, 2023. His parents, his wife, Mrs. Frankie Dennis, two daughters, Rudene Dennis Sheppard, Annette Dennis, both of Cordele, Georgia, two stepsons, Jesse Jackson of Ocala, Florida, Curtis Ezell of Cordele, Georgia, one grandson, Mr. Jeffery Sheppard of Cordele, Georgia, two brothers, Joe Dennis of Tifton, Georgia, R. C. Dennis of Eustis, Florida, two sisters, Annie Holloway, Essie Mae Williams, both of Tifton, Georgia, have all preceded him in death
William leaves to cherish his memories three sons, William Henry Dennis Jr., Robert Charles Dennis, Eddie Dean Dennis, all of Cordele, Georgia; three daughters, Mattie Gwyn, Doris Dennis, Ms. Elizabeth Dennis, all of Cordele, Georgia; stepchildren, Charlie C. Ezell, Jr., Earnestine Jackson, both of Ashburn, Georgia, Donalene (Sammie) Mosely of Albany, Georgia, Gloria Gordon of Ashburn, Georgia; fifty-five grandchildren and a multitude of great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Pecola Austin of Burlington, New Jersey; brother-in-law, Nathaniel Green of Jacksonville, Florida; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
