Virginia Green Bradley departed this life on January 2, 2025 at Englewood Health and Rehab in Englewood, Ohio. She was born November 22, 1933 to the late Thomas Green, Sr. and Anna Clark Green in Henrico, Virginia.
She graduated from Virginia Randolph High School and earned her bachelor’s degree from Virginia Union University, Richmond, Virginia. Prior to her career as an educator, she rose through the ranks of Worth’s, a luxury women’s clothing store in Richmond to become the first black store manger for the company. She retired from Richmond Public Schools after 15 years of service.
Virginia was preceded in death by her first husband, Woodrow Roane and second husband, Lorenzo Bradley, Sr.; three siblings, Thomas Green, Jr., Dahlia Tucker and Doris Edmonds.
She was a woman of faith, strength, determination and perseverance. She loved to read and had many musical talents.
Virginia leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Beverly R. Carter (Bill) of Englewood, Ohio; son, Lorenzo T. Bradley, Jr., of Chesterfield, Virginia; three grandsons, William M. Carter III of Englewood, Ohio, Carrington M. Carter (Kia) of Columbus, Ohio and Garrett M. Carter (Bria) of Gahanna, Ohio; granddaughter, London Bradley of Chesterfield, Virginia; two great granddaughters, McKenzie Carter of Englewood, Ohio and Gia Carter of Gahanna, Ohio; sister, Violette Young of Glen Allen, Virginia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd. where viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday, January 16, 2025. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, January 17 at Scott's Chapel, 116 E. Brookland Park Blvd. Interment Riverview Cemetery. Live streaming at scottsfuneralhome.com
