Raymond Lorenzo Jones, Jr of Richmond, departed this life September 22, 2022 at The Laurels of Willow Creek in Chesterfield, with his children by his side. He was born March 11, 1937 in Richmond to Raymond Lorenzo Jones Sr. and Mary Watkins Jones. Raymond received his formal education at Armstrong High School. He entered the Navy on September 28, 1954, where he served at Tarawa Quonset Point, Rhode Island as Commandant, 5th Naval District, where he received a good conduct medal before retiring on September 27, 1962. After his military service he was employed at Richfood Distribution Center, RVA. where he worked for 38 years before retiring in 1999. Raymond married Juanita Gordon Jones and from that union six children were born. In addition to his parents and wife preceding him in death, he was also preceded in death by his son, Geno Jones, Sr., sister, Marion Gordon and son-in-law, Rev. Robert N. Bradley. Surviving are his children, Ronald L. Jones (Shelbra), Gregory C. Jones (Veronica), Emanuel Jones, Theresa Bradley and Sherita Jones; grandchildren, Keisha Austin, Corey Jones, Daniel Brooks, Ephesus Brooks Sr., Randy Jones, Geno Jones, Jr. Nikeya Jones (Alease), Tierra Brooks, Chamise Bellamy (Justin) Natoya Jones (Biance), Domonique Jones, Gary Clark, Jr, Kay Jungle and Makayla Jones-McCullough; great-grandchildren, Ephesus Brooks Jr, Chase Brooks, Daisha Singleton, Samara Jones, Kennedy Jones, Cheyenne Singleton, Kensley Bellamy, Noah Bellamy, Amara Jones, Ava Jones, Jayden Jones, Alana Jones, and Nova Jungle; two loving brothers, Richard Jones and Rickey Jones (Pam); three loving sisters, Jessie Percival, Odessa Smith and Pamela Barrett; twenty-three nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Mary Lacy; brother-in-law, Pernell Gordon; other relatives and friends including one dear friend. Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd. where viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday, September 29. Funeral services will be held 9 a.m. Friday, September 30 at Scott's Chapel, 116 E. Brookland Park Blvd. Dr. Stephen B. Towns, Sr. officiating.
