Dearest Nana and family. I am so sorry about your loss. Lila was more than just my administrative assistant for 8 years, she was my work family, my trouble shooter, my mentor for family issues, and my friend. We worked hard, but also had a lot of laughs and good times. I always admired her for being such a hard worker (worked at least two jobs while I was her boss). She would work for VCU from 8-4 and then go into the supply closet and come out dressed for work at Goodwill. She loved her family and would do anything for them. She will be missed. All my love. Lila was a gem. What a beautiful smile she had. Her quick wit was infectious. I pray for all her family members and the many friends she had. She was loved by all of us who worked with her at VCU. She is one of God's Angel's. Bless you Miss Lila.

Her presence, warmth, support, and laughter could light up a room like no other. I'm thrilled I was able to see her last October at Jaci Miller's birthday celebration. She was as beautiful as ever in everyway. She will live on in our memories as the giant she was when on earth. May she rest in peace and be joyfully reunited with her loved ones on the other side. I knew Lila through her work at VCU school of social work. For many years Lila offered me wisdom, support and her smile. Her gracious manner and intelligent offerings were always an important part of my personal and professional growth.
