Joyce Elaine Evans, 73, of Richmond, passed away on July 6, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Percy Robinson and Goldie Burleigh; brother, Moses Carter. Surviving are two daughters, Tanisha Brown (Carl) and Janine Watkins (David); four grandchildren, Hassan, Leila, Jahari and Justice; two great grandchildren, Aleia and Tylik; two aunts, Meade McMullen and Pearl Branch (Lawrence); uncle, Charles Elam; devoted cousin, Cheryl McMullen; sister-in-law, Geraldine Carter; other relatives and friends. Mrs. Evans was a retired teacher of the Richmond Public Schools. At her request, there will be no services.

You were truly a remarkable women who loved your family and often gave to others. It was so hard for me and the kids to watch you suffer through that illness. While we cry and grieve in disbelief that you've passed on to glory, we also take comfort in knowing that your pain is gone. For the rest of our lives you will remain in our hearts and our minds.
