Jean Elizabeth Roland-Pender, 81, of Richmond, departed this life October 16, 2022. She was preceded in death by her son, Bennie Pender. Surviving are her son, Henrique T. Pender; three granddaughters, Sahara, Kennedy and Berkeley Pender; seven sisters, four brothers, other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd.
Ms Jean will be missed so much. As a young teen she would encourage me to finish school and attend Virginia Union.. Jean was our next door neighbor.. Terry
Jean was a big influence on me in my early adulthood, I think in many ways she was ahead of her time. She was fun, and funny, and spoke truth. I am grateful to have known her.

Rest In Peace my sister, we loved you but God loved you more.You are now with Mommie ,Daddy ,Bubbie ,Ronnie and Bennie,and all of our ancestors that went before you.I will miss you but I remember our last conversation.You told me you were tired and ready to go ,so I prayed to our Heavenly Father to take you gently home with him .He answered my prayer.I'm not sad.No more dialysis.Rest sweetheart I love you.
