My deepest sympathy to family and friends of "Dick." My husband, Hammond Knox, and Dick were very good friends even during their last years. They called each other often laughing and joking about the fact that they were born on the same day and aging together. It was always such a treat to overhear them on phone reminiscing and sharing jokes about the good old days. I'm sure they are still laughing and enjoying time together. I miss them both. Theresa Knox
I am so sorry for the loss of Mr. Harris. I was out of town and unable to attend his Visitation or his Service. I have known him for a long time as his Councilman. He and Mrs. Harris were fine people. I will miss seeing him in the hallway at Ginter Place. I will remember his energy and the way he carried himself during the end of his life. He never complained about his situation but was always wishing me well. I am sure that his reunion with Grace was and is a happy one. May God sustain you all during this time of loss. Chris Hilbert

Peace to you "Dick" and to your family. Thank you for our professional relationship in serving families in Virginia and in Richmond. Our public service journeys enabled me to get to meet you and to work with you. Thereafter, our retirement gave us an environment in which to reflect on our challenging times together when our livelihoods in public service were active - You at the local level and me at the federal level. We needed each other to make a positive impact on families who benefitted from your service and mine. Thank you "Dick" for your ethical and moral character to work on behalf of those who needed housing services which we strived to provide. Thank you again and Peace to you dear sir! My dearest cousins Gayle, Jay and Julian, words cannot truly express how my heart aches for you during this time. Cherish the memories while you celebrate the life of a man who was truly one of a kind. There was never a time in my life when I was in his presence that he failed to make me Laing or smile. His chiding. And wit were unmatched and I hope that when you feel sorrow and miss him, you can hold on to a memory that makes you smile too. ❤️🙏🏽 Sending you love and prayers and strength for the journey ahead. Love you, Cousin Jean
