James C. Taylor, 89, of Richmond, died October 31, 2024. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn B. Taylor; son, Wayne M. Taylor, brother, Warrick (Boyce) Taylor and great grandson Carson J. Gooden. Surviving are his wife, Janet J. Taylor; two sons, Randall (Monica) and Keith (Teresa) Taylor; four grandchildren, Randall (Ayesha Gilani) Taylor Jr., Candace (Omari) Vaughan-Nelson, Langston (Daniel) Gooden, Dominique Taylor; six great grandchildren, London and Amara Vaughan-Nelson, Braylen Gooden, Iman Gilani-Taylor, and Aubrie Gooden, sister, Darlene Davis; brother, William Harris; nieces, nephews, cousins, brother-in-law, William J. Johnson (Colleen); other relatives and friends. Remains rest at the Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd., where viewing will be held Thursday, November 7 from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, November 8 at Scott's Chapel. Dr. Alonza Lawrence, officiating. Interment Westwood Baptist Church Cemetery on Quioccasin Road.
