She was an outstanding professor and always gave assistance to students. She assisted in providing a graceful atmosphere in assisting students. Her gracious time was always generous to students and staff. We will miss her. I will always remember her kindness and support. Celia Younger

I met Dr King after attending a civic association meeting that she was actively involved in. She mentored me and shaped me to become civic minded, tapped my hand gently when I was out of line or needed to move on. She taught me tact and grace. She did all that while helping me help the community. What a beautiful woman. She will always be in my heart as she will in many others. Thank you Dr King. May your family and friends find peace in their hearts.

I attended Virginia Union University during the mid 60s. I remember Dr. King as a concerned and dedicated educator. I'm so sorry to hear of her passing. May she rest in peace. Barbara Clark Braxton

Ms. King treated me very fairly when I first arrived at VUU. My contact with her set the stage for a wonderful college career. I am very grateful that we had that encounter back in 1967. May God grant her very well-deserved rest.

Dr. King was Dean of Students a part of the time I was a student at Virginia Union. She knew most of the students and kept tabs on their overall well-being. Though she was a Delta, she let me know when I had earned enough credits to pledge Alpha Kappa Alpha, and I will always be grateful to her. Rest in peace, my friend. Mary DePillars
