Nana I love you. You will be truly miss. I have wonderful memories of you that will last forever. Rest in Peace Paul

You were truly blessed and beautiful woman! You were my mother in law from some years being married to to your step son Ricky. You will truly be missed.

It was September 2019 when I last saw my sister Hilda. We were celebrating my 93rd birthday. We had a wonderful time. When we were kid's, Hilda Nick named me "Doody" while trying to teach (at 5 years old) our baby sister Nelna how to say my brother (Bubba) and my name (Thelma). Hilda was always playing school. Bound for "teaching". Well, she had much success teaching Nelna how to say "Bubba" but, when it came to my name, Nelna just couldn't say it. So, Hilda told her to call me "Doody" much to my dismay. I would reply "my name ain't Doody. Nevertheless, it has stuck like glue for nearly 93 years. Hilda always wanted to help. As children, my mother would feed the "hobos"from our home and Hilda would be right there. Ready, willing and able to serve the food. It's funny, as I look back she wasdestined to be a cook and a teacher.Always feeding or sending a plate of food to someone and teaching ABC's, 123's and so much more. So many fond childhood and adulthood memories. 2 weeks ago, I prayed and asked God to give me the courage and strength to accept whatever His will may be. And he answered my prayers. So to Him, I give all the glory. God gave her to me for 93 years and now he has called her to His humble abode. May my sister rest in peace with our Lord and Saviour in Jesus's name.

"Tillie" Sweet Mocha Brown Sugar A smile of epitomy with a twist of sunshine gold. So warm, so soothing it touched you to the core of your soul. Beaming eyes shining brightly, and voluptuous curves that wouldn 't wait. Sassy, classy Southern Belle runway queen, flyer than fly. Disciplined " ride or die". Hurling banners of triumph or defeat not of her own being. Never giving up not turning away. Instead, a reply of "Awww, and carried on her way. Matriarch to all. Not one child left behind. Come on home, and spend some time with me. Ooooo, such exuberating love, oozing love, Juicy love, sweet love, love you up, love you down, love you round and around. Healing love, fractured love just fried pies, mac n cheese, collards, yeast rolls, pound cake, good ole down home country love. Tillie, Mina, Aunt Hilda, MaMa Hilda and "Mother". Gone but never, ever, ever forgotten. Your neice "Flo"

Aunt Hilda always would ask me to say the prayer during our family holiday dinners. She loved the way I prayed because she recognized how through my words I sought that each person there would identify themselves within my request to God. She was an exceptionally spiritual person, grounded in God's word, moved by grace, covered in the blood of Jesus Christ. She was my great aunt, not only in lineage-- but great in wisdom, great in intelligence, and great in love for others.

Dear Aunt Hilda,

Here is a prayer i'm saying on behalf of you for the family & friends,

"Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. 14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 15 According to the Lord's word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 "For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words." 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 New International Version (NIV) With love, your great niece Renee Cooper

My North Ave neighbor for many years. All those memories of front stoop talking, intro to chicken spaghetti, hearing about your Arkansas family, the boys skate land rides and the loving kindness you extended to my family will always be cherished in heart.

I met "Aunt Hilda" ... about 9 years ago. and again a few years ago as I worked with her niece, Gwen Watson of the U.S. Dept. of Housing & Urban Development. I talked with her often via the phone. Aunt Hilda spoke at her niece's retirement celebration: she electrified the room. She was so articulate, poised and just beautiful. I didn't know that she'd been a public speaker in her long and productive life. She was a true lady, kind and the word "generous" does not accurately describe who she was. I am so happy that she touched my life; I will never forget her. Jerri Gardner, HUD

I met Mrs. Reynolds many years ago when I was knee high to a grasshopper at Norrell Elementary school. I later found out that she lived in the same apartment building that my aunt lived in. She always treated me with kindness and a warm smile. She was a earth angel and she will truly be missed.

I've always said God had a special place in Heaven for her! Now her seat is filled. Rest well in your place at the Throne Aunt Hilda! Your legacy of love will live in us forever! Until we meet again...CaSandra Coleman Watson
