Florine D. Gaines, 83, of Richmond, died December 10, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman S. Gaines Jr. (Loon); sons, Herman S. Gaines III (KeKe), Victor A. Gaines (Vic) and Nathaniel A. Gaines (Coo) and grandson, Nathaniel A. Trapp (Cheezy). Surviving are her daughter, Kesha M. Gaines (Smee); grandchildren, Anthony S. Gaines (Amp), Kim Trapp Mills, Tiera Russell, Na'Quon A. Trapp (Newby), Korvel Johnson and Jahdae M. Gaines (Jelli); other grandchildren, great grandchildren, relatives and friends. Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E Brookland Park Blvd. where viewing will be held from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday, December 22, 2024. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, December 23 at Scott's Chapel, 116 E Brookland Park Blvd. Rev. Arlene Wimbush, officiating. Interment Oakwood Cemetery.

Florine was along with my older brother and sister. She always was a free minded person. Coming up she was the first person I saw with dyed hair, she kept her hair bleached. Today blue, pink and yellow Would been right down her lane. If you didn't want hear the truth don't ask Florine. She didn't dress it up. She kept it real. It was a joy to know her♥️♥️♥️May GOD Peace overtake you.

Granny granny if you would've asked me, I thought you would live to see 100 but I guess god had other plans I can't say don't worry about your daughter. Just know she's not alone she has her nieces and nephews and the rest of her family i know when them pearly gates open and all your boys saw you walking through. They probably couldn't wait to embrace you.Just hold a seat up there for me when its we will have a lot to catch up on. I love you your first granddaughter Kim Trapp Mills
