Doris E. Aiken Reid, the sixth child of the late Leroy Aiken, Sr. and Idora Reid Aiken, was born June 11, 1946 in Oakley, South Carolina. On January 4, 2022, the Lord in His infinite wisdom summoned Doris to her eternal rest and peace in Richmond, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Andrew and Delbert Aiken. At an early age, she became a member of Bethlehem R.E. Together they traveled the world. They raised one daughter, Renee D. Reid, MD. Doris loved life and cherished her family and friends. Her culinary expertise was evident in the wonderful meals she lovingly prepared. Doris especially enjoyed life’s celebrations and was our “Diva” who loved to style, sing, and praise dance. Doris joined the Meridian Chapter # 67 Prince Hall Order Eastern Star in 1991. In December of 1994 Doris was elevated to the highest office within the Chapter and served as Worthy Matron in 1995 and 1996. Many fond and loving memories of Doris remain with us. Past Matron Doris was truly a Diva and class act in every sense of the word. The way she strutted into the room in her stilettos captivating the audience let you know she had arrived. She had an inner glow and sweet demeanor to match her outer beauty. She was full of wisdom even when exchanging witty or funny stories. PM Doris was a true Gem in every sense of the word. The mark she left with us is invaluable and will always be cherished.
My prayers are with all whom she had the pleasure of gracing with her wonderful presence, especially her her beloved husband and daughter.
With Love,
Tiffany Choice

Lord of all power and might, all thy works do praise thee. To the Reid Family & Friends Although, you weren't ready to see her leave you so unannounced; unplanned. I pray you understand God felt it was time to extend out his hand for her to take, when he called her by name.
