David Osborne Carter, 69, of Mechanicsville, departed this life September 16, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Randolph Carter, Sr., and Annie Anderson Carter. Surviving are his sister, Jacquelin Carter Jackson; two brothers, John Randolph Carter, Jr. (Carol) and Clyde Arthur Carter (Brigitte); nieces, one devoted niece Rachae Heyer (Bret); nephews, one devoted nephew, Keith Jackson (Maria); great nieces, great nephews a host of cousins, one devoted cousin, Rena Frazier (Rev. David Frazier), other relatives and friends, two devoted friends, Lisa Watts and Julia Jones-Davis. Mr. Carter was a 48 year retiree from the United States Postal Service.
Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd., where viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Monday, September 23, 2024. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 24, at Scott's Chapel, 116 E. Brookland Park Blvd. Rev. James Jackson, officiating. Interment Pryor Memorial Cemetery.
