Ms. Rosa Mae Tyson was born February 12, 1949 to the late Johnnie and Rebecca James.
Ms. Rosa Mae Tyson graduated from Pinevale High School. She moved to Jacksonville, FL for some years. In 1979, she moved back to Valdosta Georgia.
She was a member of Irvin Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she served as an usher, choir member and kitchen cook.
She worked at Lake Haven for some years. She retired from South Georgia Medical Center after 23 years. Ms. Rosa talked about her SGMC crew. They knew her by her beautiful smiling, dance moves and talking about her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Most of all she loved her family.
Ms. Rosa Mae Tyson gained her precious wings, Friday, January 15, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents; Johnnie and Rebecca James, grandparents, Will and Rosa Jones and Emma and Lorenzo Corbett; her son, Earnest Wright Jr.; aunts, Martna, Christine, Betty; and some special friends, Earnest Wright Sr., Mattie Slater, Evelyn Berrian, and Cheryl Hunter.
Rosa Mae Tyson leaves to cherish memories one brother, Johnnie (Allen) James; one daughter, Shanta Randall of Miami, FL; eight grandchildren, Felicia Green (Randy) of Jacksonville, FL, Antoine Wright (Jamie) of Orlando, FL, DeAntonie Horne of Fort Steward, GA, Earnesha Wright of Jacksonville, FL, Earnest Wright III of Virginia, Tatyanna Randall, Jacquez Coward and Trinity Wright of Valdosta and Janiya Allen of Tallahassee, FL; thirteen great grandchildren; daughter - in – law, Evelyn Dalton; aunts, Ruby Windbush of Orlando, FL, Bernice Hawkins of Plainfield, NJ; Godmother, Juanita (Mama Dear) Capers of Valdosta, GA; God daughter, Tangenek McDonald of Valdosta, GA, Shekitta Allen of Tallahassee, FL and a host of cousins and other relatives. Special neighbors, Yaphet Johnson (Shemekia), Eula Arnold, and Mr. Freddie, Erica and Sandy and some special devoted friends Jeralene Wiggs, Katrina Hargett, SGMC crew and Deborah Sheffield.
Graveside services for Ms. Rosa Tyson will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 2:00 P. M. at Irvin Hill Cemetery

We worked with Ms. Rosa in the Nursery at SGMC. She was the leader of the pack on night shift. She was such a precious lady. I called her Sassafras! She kept us all straight. We loved this lady so much. We will all miss her. Prayers for this family. With love, Cathy Swilley

Rosa upon hearing the news of losing another family member Amp & I instantly reflected back to those Friday's full of excitement knowing our Georgia family would be in Jacksonville,FL with you leading the way in your SUV. We knew once 5pm came we would be greeted from work with LOVE and the weekend would be full of good food, games, dancing, and laughter! We have great memories with you. I have known Ms Rosa since 1990 , when I worked with her and her mother at Lakehaven Nursing Home. She was always bubbly and happy person. I then ended up working with her again in the nursery. She was always so fun to be around. We will miss you and your sassy self. Rip. We love you, Delia Connor
