Mrs. Rosie Lee Berrian-Troy was born February 26, 1930 to the late Gladys James-Wilson, and the late Willie Bellemy in Naylor, Ga. She was also the step daughter of the late Casey Wilson. “Ma” as many knew her, was a very devoted daughter, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She stopped attending school at the 4th grade to work in the fields to help her mother at a young age. At the age of 15, she married the late Tommie Berrian and to this union; she was blessed with nine children, and she was a homemaker. She later married the late great John Troy Sr. and to this union she bore one daughter and gained six bonus children.
Rosie was preceded in death by her mother Gladys James-Wilson, father Willie Bellemy, Stepfather Casey Wilson; her only sister Willie Bell Wolfe; her husband John Troy Sr.; children still-born twin sons, Thomas Berrian, Linda Berrian, Jacqueline Berrian, Rodney Berrian, Mattie Pearl Patrick, Joseph Troy, J.W. Troy, and Benjamin Troy, and her cousin Chris Anderson.
Rosie Troy leaves 94 years of memories to be cherished by her beloved children: John Henry Berrian (Dinia), Billy Berrian, Shirley Berrian, Virginia Troy, Bertha Troy, and Sarah Brown (Willie). Rosie also leaves to cherish her memories over 76 grandchildren and over 100 great-grandchildren, and her great-great grandchildren. Rosie also leaves to cherish the memories of her wonderful cooking and genuine love to a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends.
A celebration of life for Ms. Rosie Troy will be held Sunday, November 17, 2024 at 2:00 P. M. at Scott and Roberts Mortuary with Minister Ottie Ratliff, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Public viewing will be held on Saturday, November 16, from 10:00 A. M til 5:00 P. M.
