He was preceded in death by his father Cleveland Wesley Herring Sr.; his grandparents Dixie and Eurdice Williams and George Harris and Girlene Herring.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his mother Ardell W. Johns two children, his son Marcus S. Thomas and his daughter LaShonda Herring; his brothers Cleveland W. Herring Jr. (Kysha), and Willie T. Herring; one loving and devoted sister Rhonda Herring-Sherman (Michael); two loving nephews Quinton Demps and Brandon Herring (Kaylee); two devoted nieces Jasmine Herring and Brianna Sherman; two great nieces Yasmir Herring and Anoni Herring; one former wife Phyllis Herring; a devoted friend Elonda Battle; special friend Twyla Williams-Jackson; the mother of his children Sharette Robinson; his god brothers Willie “Pop” McClain, Clyde Jackson, Christopher Woodson, Terrance Freeman, William Patterson and Dexter Smith; sister-in-law Valerie Fulton and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends who will miss him dearly. Public viewing will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2020 from 12:00 noon til 5:00 P.M and Friday, July 17, 2020 from 10:00 A.M. til 7:00 P.M. Scott and Roberts Mortuary is serving the family.

Elonda Battle and family so sorry for your loss. Hold your head up as he would want you to. Elonda you were called to be in his in his life until he was called home. God won't put anything on you that you can't handled.

Lillian I am so sorry for your great loss. I know that you and your children have an Angel in Heaven looking down on y'all. Marcus was an amazing man and he loved you and y'alls children do very much. Never forget the time y'all shared and memories made sweet lady. Love you and I am here if you need me! Marcus will be missed by so many!
