Manning, SC Joan White, 76, died Friday, December 31, 2021 at 4468 South Brewington Road, Foreston Community, Manning, SC. She was born November 6, 1945 in Clarendon County, South Carolina, a daughter of the late Steve White Sr. and Ruth Leen Brown White.
Joan “Dran” White, daughter of the late Stephen White, Sr. and Ruthleen Brown White was born November 6, 1945 in Manning, South Carolina. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Yvonne White, Lily Gibbs and Eva Holliday and one brother, Robert White. She was affectionately called “Aunt Dran” by her nieces and nephews. Early in life, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior. Later in life, she joined New Covenant Apostolic Church in Greeleyville, South Carolina where she was baptized according to Acts 2:38. Later, she was a member of True Beginning Apostolic Church in Manning, South Carolina. Later, she joined Rock Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Manning, South Carolina. She became an honorary member of New Hope Christian Church in Greeleyville, South Carolina. She was a homemaker and a faithful caregiver to all her siblings, nieces and nephews. She loved church and praising the Lord. Even though she was labeled disabled, she would still talk about everyone. She would/could describe anyone with no problem. On Friday, December 31, 2021 at the residence of her sister in the Foreston community of Clarendon County, Joan White, answered her call to be with the Lord. Joan’s memory will forever be cherished by five sisters, Mary Palmer of the home, Rebecca (Fred) Epps, Greeleyville, SC, Ella (Steve) White, Thelma Cantey, Elinora Andrews (adopted sister) all of Manning, SC; two brothers, Freddie White of Pompano Beach, FL and Steve (Patsy) White, Jr., of Summerton, SC; three aunts, Rebecca Dobson, Bronx, NY, Eva Carroll, Council, NC and Madgalene (Roosevelt) Woods of Kingstree, SC; two uncles, William Brown, Manning, SC and Herbert Lee Brown, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were held 12:00 Noon Friday, January 7, 2022 at Rock Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 6569 Old Georgetown Road, Manning, SC. Rev. Dr. Leon Winn, Pastor, officiated; Elder Tommy Woods, Pastor Jerry P. Edwards and Pastor Sarah Bennett, assisted.
The family received friends from 12:00 Noon til 4:00PM daily at 1283 Poston Lane, Manning, SC.
