Frederick Lamar Childers, son of John Childers, Sr. and Acie Bright Childers was born January 5, 1971 in Greeleyville, South Carolina. He received his formal education at C. E. Murray High School, Greeleyville, South Carolina and graduated with the Class of 1990. He accepted Christ into his life at an early age and was baptized at St. John 4-b Missionary Baptist Church. Fred was a member of the Youth Choir. He later joined Central Missionary Baptist Church in 2017. He was such in inspiration to all throughout his life. He was a loving and friendly person who didn’t mind helping anybody. He was very dependable. Fred worked at Colonial Rubber Company for many years, as well as Georgia Pacific and Milliken Company in Kingstree, South Carolina. He was joined in holy matrimony to Rose Marie Brockington Childers. On Wednesday, November 10, 2021, God called the name of Frederick Lamar Childers and he answered his call from the Heavenly Father at his residence. Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Rose Marie Brockington Childers of the home; four daughters: Donashia Green, Charlotte, NC, Heaven Staggers, Florence, SC, Genesis Preston, and Monique Mack both of Atlanta, GA; two sons, Frederick Childers, Jr., Greensboro, NC and Allen Jermaine Brockington, Manning, SC; his parents. John Childers, Sr. and Acie B. Childers both of Greeleyville, SC; two sisters, Tamekia (Lamont) Smalls, Greeleyville, SC and Kimberly (Trevor) Smith, Monks Corner, SC; four brothers: John (Teresa) Childers, Jr., Greeleyville, SC, Terrance (Adrian) Childers, Andrews, SC, John (Bridgett) Dukes, Lane, SC and Gwayne York, Greeleyville, SC; one granddaughter, Myra Brockington; grandmother, Ada Wright, Chesapeake, VA; eighteen aunts; four grand aunts; nine uncles; step mother-in-law, Margaret Brockington, Connecticut; two very close friends, Bobby York, Columbia, SC and Johnny Fugerson; Augusta, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Childers were held 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Hayes F. Samuels Sr. Memorial Chapel, 114 North Church Manning, SC. Bishop Clemont Grant officiated. Rev. JP Edward, Rev Tyrone York and Rev. VaTrilla Collins assisted. Burial followed in Keels Cemetery, Greeleyville, SC.
The family received friend at his residence from 4:00PM til 8:00PM daily.
