Obituary For Deidra Mack Holliday

Manning, SC

Deidra Ramona Mack Holliday, the eldest daughter of Lena B. Mack and the late Edward Mack, Sr. was born July 30, 1973 in Manning, South Carolina. She was preceded in death by one son, Omarion Holliday.

In her youth, Deidra accepted Christ as her personal Savior and joined St. John Baptist Church Greeleyville, South Carolina. Later in life, “Dee Dee” joined Calvary Baptist Church in Morristown, New Jersey.

“Dee Dee” was a devoted, considerate, and compassionate individual; Her dedication and commitment knew no bounds. Her love for all was universally consistent. Her mark on the community, along with the numerous friendships developed, will forever remain.

She obtained her Bachelor of Social Work from Morris College in Sumter, South Carolina and also became a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority; a member of the International Masons and the Order of the Eastern Star INC.; member of Lady Grace # 256, and Georgia Benjamin District 7 and Bethune Grand Chapter; she also acquired a Master’s degree from Troy University.

She was a dedicated employee of the Department of Social Services in South Carolina for many years. “Dee Dee” was a Daycare owner of Little Dreams Academy in South Carolina and New Jersey. She also served as Director of 21st Century After School program in New Jersey, as well as a Social Worker for Calvary Baptist Church and New Jersey Child Protective services. On Wednesday, November 3, 2021, our beloved, Deidra Ramona Mack Holliday was summoned by her Heavenly Father to bid her earthly home farewell.

“Dee Dee” leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter, Dior Grace Holliday of New Jersey and one son, Christian Jahsyr Mack- Alston of Manning, South Carolina; her mother, Lena B. Mack of Manning, SC; a brother, Edward Mack Jr. of Manning, SC; two sisters, Shay Mack of Charlotte, NC and Stacey J. Mack of Manning, SC; a niece, Emani Mack and nephew, Edward Nasir Mack; six aunts, Dora (Nathaniel) Dyson, Frances (Charles) Miller, Lorene (Linwood) Perry, Sarah Mack, Gertie Mouzon, and Phinese (Tony) Howar; two uncles, Anthony (Cynthia) Mack of SC, and Isiah (Sandra) Mack of VA; a host of sisterly/brotherly cousins, Carol, Gina Reese, Monica, Teresa, Kim & Tonia, Tasha, Drea, Lamont, Kelvy; a host of close and protective cousins, other relatives and dear friends.

Public viewing was held from 2:00PM til 6:00PM Thursday, November 11, 2021 at Hayes F. Samuels, Sr. Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services for Mrs. Holliday will be held 2:00 PM Friday, November 12, 2021 at Hayes F. Samuels Sr., Memorial Chapel, 114 North Church St. Manning, SC. Burial followed in the Muldrow Cemetery, Manning, SC.

The family is received friends at the home of her mother, 4252 Kingstree Hwy., Manning, SC.
