Charlene Wilson Frierson was born November 28, 1965 in Berks County to Margie Hodge Wilson and the late Charles Joe Wilson, Sr. She departed this life on June 22, 2021 at MUSC Health Medical Center in Florence, South Carolina.
Charlene, who was also known for many other names: Chocalene, Pamalam by our dad, Char, and our favorite, “Pam”. She was greatly influenced by being reared in a Christian home. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and attended Harmony Presbyterian Church.
She received her formal education in the public schools, graduating from Manning High School in the class of 1983. She graduated from Central Carolina Technical College in Sumter, South Carolina in Phlebotomy.
Charlene as “Pam”, was a devoted mother, grandmother, a daughter, a sister, a niece, an aunt, a godmother and friend.
Pam worked at Piggly Wiggly in her younger years and then moved on to BI-LO and IGA. Later on in her life, she started working at the Disability Special Needs Board and later became a supervisor, where she has been employed for over twenty years. She was well known throughout the community as well as the work force. Everyone knew her to be a kind, warm, witty, numerous and loving person. She was a huge influence to many also a second mom, a sister, an aunty to anyone she came in contact with. To know her was to love her. She was definitely not a stranger.
Pam enjoyed watching her western shows and loved the cooking channel. She loved trying different foods, especially her steaks. She enjoyed riding to the beach every chance she got. She left behind life lesson with her children.
Pam and Frankie married May 15, 1993 and was blessed with a set of twins.
Those left to cherish her life and legacy are her husband, Frankie Frierson, Manning, SC; children, Charnell Frierson, Manning, SC and Jerrell Frierson, Florence, SC; mother, Margie Wilson of the home; siblings: Lorraine (Curtis) Caesar, Florence, SC, Donna (Eric) Heywood, York, PA, Stacie Wilson, Columbia, SC, Tracie Wilson, Lamar, SC, Monique Wilson of the home and Charles Joe (Monique) Wilson, Fountain Inn, SC; three grandchildren, Aiden Frierson, Sumter, SC, KuʹMari Ham and KuʹMiJay Frierson both of Manning, SC; two godchildren, Ariyl Jackson, Monks Corner, SC and Leianna Reign Wilson, Sumter, SC; a host of aunts, in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Frierson were held 2:00 PM Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Hayes F. Samuels Sr., Memorial Chapel, 114 North Church St., Manning, SC. Rev Dr. Franklin D. Colclough, Sr. Officiating Rev. Mary Hagen and Rev. Arkus Frierson assisting. Burial will follow in Harmony Cemetery, Alcolu, SC.
The family is received friends from 4:00PM til 8:00PM at the home of her mother, 1464 Magnolia Corner, Alcolu, SC.
