Sister Georgia Mae Kendrick Smith, a woman of wisdom, was born on October 24, 1922, to the union of the late Rev. George and Sylvia Kendrick in McCullough, AL, she departed this life to eternity on Friday, January 15, 2021. Sister Smith was married to the late Reverend Dr. N. L. Smith for 58 years. Sister Smith was a sweet, quite humble woman that loved her family and passionately loved the Lord and served faithfully in the work of the Church. Some of her earlier works in the Church included Sunday School Teacher, Mission Leader, Choir Leader, Youth Leader just to name a few, and was the first lady of the New Area Missionary Baptist Church #2, Mobile, AL, that her husband, Rev. Smith organized in 1956 and served there for over 50 years. She worked faithfully for many years with the Sunlight District Women and Ministers Wives Divisions. Sis. Smith showed love to everybody; she had a very kind heart for all people and the sweetest person you could ever meet; she was a woman that always carried herself as a virtuous woman and as an example to all women. Sister Smith was a great homemaker and an excellent cook, she could and would fix meals for her family and others with little and provided a grand feast for all to enjoy. Any foods she made, it was the best to taste/eat, out of this world! She gave the best of whatever she put her hands to and did not grumble about it, she just got the job done in a peaceable and excellent manner. Georgia Mae Kendrick Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Dr. N. L. Smith, four sons, Johnnie (Mary) Smith, Willie Smith, Rev. Clyde Smith and Eddie Smith. Three daughters, Betty Jean Smith, Elizabeth Porter and Clarissa (Peaches) Smith. Seven brothers and eight sisters. Georgia Mae Kendrick Smith leaves to cherish precious memories, six daughters, Dorothy Williams of Palmdale, CA, Betty Hines (Jimmy) of Pflugerville, TX, Annie Mitchell, of Biloxi, MS, Vanessa McCants (O.T.), Annette Smith, and Marsha Smith, all of Mobile, AL. Thirty-seven grandchildren, sixty-two great grandchildren, ten great-great grandchildren, three daughters-in-law; Betty, Patricia and Carolyn Smith. Godchildren; Dr. Clyde Maye, Jr., Janie Mae Wallace, Deloris Carter, Nikki Battles, Irish Campbell, Kimberly Shaw-Moore. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family members; many, many dear friends and loved ones.

The evening of viewing will be held Friday January 22,2021 at the Bell- Miller Memorial Chapel of Samuel Jackson Mortuary from 2pm-6pm and Saturday January 23,2021 from Macedonia Baptist Church of Prichard (131 July Ave) 9AM- 10AM Homegoing Celebration with Pastor Julius Seals, Officiating Minister.

The Bed of final resting will commence at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
