WHEREAS, Matthew Lewis "Grass" Whitaker, Jr. was born Sunday, July 8, 1973 in Roanoke Rapids, Halifax County, North Carolina to Patricia McWilliams and Matthew Lewis Whitaker, Sr. WHEREAS, Matthew "Grass" Whitaker, Jr. is grandson of Corina Thornton and Bunch McWilliams, Sr. as well as Susie Martin and Manyour Whitaker, Jr. WHEREAS, Matthew "Grass" Whitaker, Jr. is great grandson of Lenora Jones & Plummer Thornton, Jr., Olivia McWilliams & Allen Williams, Mary Harris & Earnest Martin, Katie Bailey & Emmanuel Whitaker. WHEREAS, Matthew "Grass" Whitaker, Jr. is great great grandson of Sally Mitchum & Warren Jones, Matilda Bailey & Plummer Thornton, Sr., Sarah Daniel & Henry McWilliams, Emily Sledge & Nathen Martin, Lucy Street and Thomas Bailey, Martha McWilliams & Africa Whitaker. WHEREAS, Matthew "Grass" Whitaker, Jr. is great great great grandson of Maria & Augustus McWilliams, Harriet Stewart Meade and Caesar Bailey, Mariah Harvey & Jesse Bynum Qualls, Aniss & Robert Washington Thornton, Caroline Pitt & Samuel Bailey, AddiAnn Price & Harrod Jones, as well as Margarett Scott and Richard Mitchum.
