To the Harris Family, May God give you the strength to endure. Mr. Harris was the best teacher at Cypress Jr. High. He was the shop teacher for me and all 5 of my siblings as well as a coach and teacher for my sons. The same spirit he had in 1980 he had in 2004 when he taught my sons. Thank you for sharing 'Big Mane" he was truly a gift from God to the Cypress Jr High Timberwolves. RIP.
Rest in love Mr. Harris! You will truly be missed. Starnisha Wright

Big Mane was one teacher that taught with jokes and checks! Lol! I never wanted to get rid of my magazine rack that I made in his shop class at Cypress JH because I was so proud of it. And he made sure I was proud of it. He will be well missed. Rest peacefully. -Timberwolf
From the Kee family in Somerville Tennessee. You will be greatly missed.
We will always remember Odell for his gentle spirit, engaging smile and loving conversations as he completed his "delivery." Our conversations covered a wide range of topics but "educating our youth " was a deep seated, ongoing concern. His spirit will always be with us. Marieta thanks for sharing him with us. Clair and Barbara Jones
Big Mane.......this is still surreal. I entered the NYSP before I was 10 and was allowed the opportunity that many had to wait for. I started out as a non swimmer and at swim time I longed to be in the advance swimmers class he taught. Needless to say when I finally made I didn't realize how much hard work it would be. He always gave wise advice advice. When I was old enough, he afforded me with the opportunity of working in the summer camp. I thank God for allowing me to be impacted by his leadership. I can say that my time in the NYSP and being taught under his leadership will stay with me forever. Rest well Mr. Harris. My sincerest condolences to the family.
Big Mane Touch and molded so many of my fellow Timberwolves lives the right way with discipline and honor. Coach job well done and RIH !!!!!! Butler Family 💜

In these difficult times may God hold you close to HIS heart, where He can feel your deepest loss, and fill you with His deepest love. May beautiful memories bring you peace during these difficult times. We are here for you always. Love Mary Fleming
Big Mane will truly be missed. He planted positive seeds that will carry me through my life. So grateful to be one of his kids at Cypress!!
My fav memory of Coach Harris was when he critiqued our dance steps & voices while listening to and watching a group we'd formed for a talent show. He was a multi-talented, caring, memorable staff member at Cypress Jr. High! Rest in His presence Coach. Precious memories!
Good Thursday! Mr. Harris was a caring, correcting teacher at Cypress Jr high school; the school that I attended from 7th grade to 9th grade. As a 7th grader I was the loquacious student who always put pens/pencils in my ponytail because I disliked carrying purses. During lunch Mr. Harris corrected me on a daily basis saying "young ladies do not wear pens/pencils in their hair" He would remove them & place them in my hand. Such a wonderful man/teacher. May God bless the memory of Mr. Harris. Peace and blessings to the family. Andrea Campbell Ward...Los Angeles CA
