I was privileged to meet Maxine in the Church Health Center YMCA @ Crosstown where we attended the AOA classes Monday thru Thursday. There was a very close & friendly group of us Senior Citizens who hung together & really enjoyed each other's company. She & I were both had our own "wheels" (walkers) On Monday & Wednesday we were Stephanie's "Gym Rats" in Balance & Movement Class. Every class we greeted each other with a smile & update on what was happening in our lives because we were genuinely happy to see each other! Class began with us comparing our unusual sock choices, quoting an old saying & sharing what we had for breakfast. When it was her turn Maxine closed her meal description with "and my favorite juice..." & the entire class yelled out "cranberry juice!" She had a healthy appetite. She always kept us abreast with the historical day in history. Most days after class we w get on the NuStep machine & pedal for 60 minutes . She had an infectious laugh & sense of humor. I didn't realize we had been neighbors in Bunker Hill for a while until I read the other remembrances, small world ! I thank God for bringing her into my life if only briefly because I was blessed for knowing her. I'll miss her wit & smile. Gone but not forgotten💕🙏🏾. Sandra "Sandy" Hamilton

I met Ms. Campbell in 2014 when I worked as a Home Care Nurse for Methodist Alliance Home Care. She was very dear to me and several of my family members who periodically came to assist her. Ms. Campbell will be sorely missed but we have consolation in the fact that she is resting with her Father in Heaven. We will continue to keep the family lifted in prayer during this time of bereavement.

To the Family of Maxine Weaver Campbell: Maxine and I became friends at Cane Creek Elementary School (which later became Dunn Avenue Elementary School). From Dunn Avenue, we continued our education at Hamilton Junior/Senior High School. We both graduated from Hamilton High in 1961. Maxine and I were teachers in the Legacy Memphis City Schools.
Maxine was a dear friend with an infectious smile and a sweet caring spirit. She will be remembered as one who loved the Lord and humanity.
I extend my heartfelt sympathy to her beloved family. I will miss her, but I am comforted by God's Word: "We are confident I say and willing to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord." (2 Corinthians 5:8 KJV)
