Marilyn Pattie Young Wright loving known as BomBom by her grandkids, was born on June 30, 1954, to the late Herman and Eva Harvey-Young in Memphis, TN. It was at the Historic First Baptist Beale Street Church where she confessed her faith in Christ at an early age. She was a member of the choir for many years. Marilyn later joined The Healing Center Full Gospel Baptist Church, where she was once again a member of the choir and a member of the finance room.
Marilyn graduated from Central High School in 1972. She went into the workforce before giving birth to her daughter in 1973. She took AIB courses for accounting and worked at Union Planters Bank as an Accounts Control/Charge Backs Clerk for 32 years before retiring the first time. She worked for IRS for 3 years after her retirement. She also worked for Juvenile Courts systems as a processing clerk for 3 years. Finally retiring in January 2022, where she worked for Shelby County Sheriff’s Department for 14 years.
Marilyn married Robert Wright Jr. November 29, 1986 and they had Little Robert Wright III February 1988. Marilyn’s greatest passion was Jesus, her family, and serving people. Whenever anyone had anything, she was there no matter what. She was there for each of her grandkids’ births, even when the boys were born in Alabama. She loved having fun and traveling to Baton Rouge, LA and Huntsville, AL to visit her kids and grandkids.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Harriet L. Young, Helen L. Young, brother Bishop William Young Sr. She leaves to cherish her memories her husband Robert Wright Jr.; two children: Tracie Wade (Max), Robert Wright III; one bonus son/nephew Kenneth Gates; one stepdaughter Angela Wright; five grandchildren, Megan Wade, Maxwell Wade III, Matthew Wade, Viondre Wright, Nickariya Wright ; A hosts of sisters-in laws and brothers-in laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family has scheduled a public viewing for Friday March 10, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. with a service of celebration on Saturday March 11, 11 a.m. both at The Healing Center 3885 Tchulahoma Rd. Burial will follow in The Historic Elmwood Cemetery.
