Obituary For Florence Neal

Mother Florence Ella Neal was born Thursday, January 2, 1941, to the late Ester and Lennie (Boswell) Neal in Rossville, TN. She departed this life on Tuesday, April 11, 2023.

She was preceded in death by two sons Clarence Neal and Micheal Neal; one bonus grandson Jermaine Livingston; two brothers Ike Houston Neal and Julius Lee Neal; four sisters, Ora Lee Shields, Ruby York, Versie Walker, and Cloteal Cooper; three nephews Melvin Neal, Calvin Neal, Julius Neal Jr.; four nieces Ethel Jones, Valerie Fuller, Denise Crawford, and Jacqueline Golden.

Mother Neal professed a hope in Christ at an early age at Dewitt Temple Church of God in Christ in Moscow, TN now Fellowship Church of God in Christ in Collierville, TN under the pastorage of the late Superintendent Samuel Carpenter. She was a faithful servant in the church. She served on the Pastor’s Aide Committee, sponsored several programs, served as the church secretary, and was a choir member. She continued to serve faithfully on the Mother Board under the pastorage of the late Superintendent Michael Carpenter until her health would no longer permit.

She was an entrepreneur of her very own cleaning service in which she faithfully worked until her retirement in 2015.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving children, Brenda Clark, Elder Larry Neal (Cheryl), & Marlon Ross; one daughter-in-law, Arlinda Neal; one brother, Willie Frank Neal; ten grandchildren, Pastor LaSonya Livingston (Pastor Jeremiah), Lamonte Grandberry (Tiffany), Sharon Lee (Alfredo), Michelle Tate (George), David Clark (Kimberly), Cassandra Neal, Micheal Neal (Krisy), Tamonica Ross, Larry Neal Jr. (Kyerra), and Montavious Neal all of Memphis, TN; three bonus grandchildren, Cashikia Grandberry of Memphis, TN, Tarence Cooper of Slidell, LA, and Brittany Taylor of Nashville, TN; twenty-four great grandchildren, eight bonus great grandchildren, four great great-grand children, a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends and one very special friend Katherine Lammons.

The family will receive friends Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 9:30am-10:55am with a funeral service will follow at 11:00am both will be held at Fellowship COGIC 451 Quinn Road, Collierville, TN 38017

Internment will be in Memorial Park Southwoods , 5485 Hacks Cross Rd, Memphis, TN 38125
