Obituary For Deborah Brown

Deborah Jean Brown was born February 24, 1964, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Herman Brown and Anna Jo Brown, who preceded her in death.

Deborah accepted Christ at a very young age as her Lord and Savior at Walker Holmes Riverside Missionary Baptist Church. When she committed her life to Christ and the church, it brought joy to Deborah's heart to sing in the choir and to participate in the church plays and programs. She especially enjoyed the activities during the holiday seasons!

Deborah grew up in South Memphis in the Walker Holmes area. As a child and teen, she attended Ford Road Elementary School, Hillcrest High School and Mitchell Road High School. Deborah had a passion for running. She participated in the Track and Field Program while enrolled at Hillcrest High School. She also learned brick masonry at the local Kansas Vocational Technology School where she later found a passion for laying bricks and doing housing rehab rebuilds.

Deborah was fortunate to live in four states, Texas, Michigan, Tennessee and Georgia. She also enjoyed playing cards, meeting new people, going on cruises with her daughter, listening to music, dancing, and helping anyone she could. Deborah had a very big heart. The Lord called Deborah home on Sunday, March 12, 2023, with open arms and peace.

Deborah leaves to cherish her memory one child, Trenise Brown (Tomball, Texas); six brothers and five sisters, Elisha Williams (California), Earnestine Jackson (Texas), Gloria Jean Foster (Tennessee), Earnest Jackson (Stephanie) of Nashville, Joe Jackson (Wisconsin), Mary Ann Jones (Alabama), Sharon Brown (Tennessee), Herman Brown (Ohio), Tommy Brown (Tennessee), Oscar Brown (Tennessee) and Lena Jackson (Ohio); and a host of nieces, nephews, good friends and neighbors.

The family will receive friends for a memorial service Saturday, March 25, 2023 2:00pm at RS Lewis & Sons Funeral Home 2944 Walnut Grove Road, Memphis, TN 38111
