To the family of my former neighbor, class mate (1954), and Bethel church member. A beautiful and very funny person, Freda. Gloria Hood.
It is so hard to express the pain that comes with the lost of a loved one. It is equally hard to express the joy of knowing that the loved one is at peace. Both of these sentiments, pain and joy, I will feel for a long time for my sister, Freda. At times the pain will outweigh the joy because she is no longer here on earth. While on earth she gave "all" of herself through sheer devotion and love to her immediate, maternal and paternal families. My dear sister, I love you "still" so much and I will miss and admire you "still" as well. The grieving is difficult and I have to do it in my own way; but through faith in God I will make it through. Thank you God for loaning me my sister, Freda. Maxine Victoria Thomas, Sister
Mrs Gonzalez will always be the exotic bird in paradise, so beautiful and charming that when she smiled everyone felt special! She took flight like only she could but I will always know where to find her! Rev Dr George Hartsfield

Thinking of Mark and this family with sympathy and hoping you find comfort in your special memories. "Freda" and I shared many childhood experiences at Bethel Baptist Church (Southside) and Emanuel Baptist (Mixontown). Barbara Badger-Bing
"Freda" was a friend and schoolmate of my older siblings; and I was a friend and playmate with her younger brother Mark and her daughters. We always treasured and shared fond memories of our [Gospel] musical roots (3 generations) and the unwavering commitment of our forebearers to nutrure and teach us, by precept and example, the importance of establishing our OWN personal relationship(s) with God. I commend the family to seek solace in the comfort and care of a loving Father who has promised to provide a prepared place for His prepared people...and...who has now "received her unto Himself" (ref: John 14) Brenda Badger-Cusack DeLand, FL
My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family. My childhood memories of your family, especially Freda, gave me something to aspire to. May God continue to strengthen you and give you his eternal peace. Peace & Blessings, Detra Hickson
