After the passing of his Biological father at an early age, Mr. Willie Cooper assumed the fatherly role and provided guidance to Roosevelt. He confessed Christ at an early age at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Attalla, Alabama. Roosevelt was educated in the Attalla City School District where he graduated from the Etowah County High School Class of 1980.

In 2002, Roosevelt became the pastor of the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Albertville, Alabama where he served faithfully until his death.
