Lloyd “LP” Robinson Jr, A resident of Texas formerly of Montgomery, Al departed this life on Friday, July 21, 2023.
Born March 12, 1967 in Chicago, Il, Lloyd was 1 of 5 siblings born to Lloyd and Lula Robinson. “Jamerican”, he was born American but had Jamaican roots! Lloyd was an accomplished Communications Engineer. He was also a minister. His career in communications spans from 1985 until his death in 2023. He worked for WBRC Fox6 News, Birmingham AL., Wave 3 News, Louisville KY, Louisville public Media, Cumulus Media and his own company, LP Robinson Communications. A graduate of Rust College, Lloyd was a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. (ΩΨΦ) and Prince Hall Freemasonry. His “Que” Brothers and his Mason Brothers were his strength. He was also a member of the Society of Broadcast Engineers. Communications was his passion! He practiced his craft across the United States, from Pennsylvania to Kentucky, Indiana,Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi and Texas.
Lloyd’s family was everything to him. He loved his son “LJ” with everything that he had. He was so very proud of him and his accomplishments. He loved his step daughter, Jasmine and grandson Bryson, often showing off new pictures of them every chance he could. Lloyd loved his siblings! At the end of every call was a “Love You”. His love for his nieces and nephews, who affectionately called him Uncle Rusty, was also evident by his presence at their parties with his cameras forever rolling. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for anyone in need..
Media was his life. Even after his setback due to a stroke in 2016 he still found his passion in pictures of landscapes, skylines, and everyday life. Lloyd loved, was loved and will be forever loved and remembered. Rest in peace LP. We love you!
Lloyd is preceded in death by his Father Lloyd P. Robinson Sr., His Mother Lula Robinson, and older brother Khristerpher “Sonny” Robinson. He leaves behind his son Lloyd Robinson III, his stepdaughter Jasmine and grandson Bryson, his brother Robert Paul Robinson, sisters Robin Hines and Gloria Bingmon, nieces, Erin, Jayda, Jaslin and Jenelle, nephews Anton, Jarvain and Jourdin, his Omega and Freemason families and a host of friends and loved ones who will miss him dearly. A memorial celebration service will be held Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Phillips-Riley Funeral Home Chapel, 2284 West Fairview Ave, Montgomery, Alabama 36108.
