On Saturday morning, March 19, 2022, Thomas Adrian Bass moved from his temporary address to his permanent and eternal residence. Adrian, as he was affectionately known, was born December 18, 1957, to Reverend Fredrick O. Bass, Sr., and Marian Holmes Bass.
Adrian attended the public schools of High Point, graduating from T. Wingate Andrews High School, Class of 1976. He was a defensive back for the Red Raider football team and was captain his senior year. He was also a member of the wresting team. After high school, Adrian enrolled at Morehouse College, Atlanta, GA, graduating in 1980 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration. Moving to Atlanta, he joined Antioch Baptist Church North. At his death, he was an active and faithful member of Christ the King Baptist Church.
He leaves to cherish his memories his brother, Reverend Fredrick O. Bass, Jr; aunts, Mrs. Joyce H. Raye, Kinston, NC, and Mrs. Melba McCannon, Hyattsville, MD; and a host of cousins, other relatives, friends, and classmates, along with the Christ the King Baptist Church Family.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 26, 2022, at 12:00 noon at Mount Vernon Baptist Church. Inhumation and committal service will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church from 11: 15 a.m. until 12:00 noon.

Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.
I met Adrian at Christ the King Baptist Church in Dacula, Georgia, while rendering videography services. Working as a producer and videographer at a local Atlanta television station, Adrian often checked in with me overnights when on limousine duty. Adrian was quick to notice the on air talent changes at the station. He was humble and funny. Past text messages went unanswered and today,(06/28/2022) I discovered 'AB' had transitioned to be with the LORD. To the Bass family, Thank you for sharing 'AB' with us in Georgia. He will be missed. To The Bass Family, I was deeply sad about the passing of my friend, Adrian. I will always remember when Adrian, Gary Hingleton and I were working during the summer at the Environmental Center in Jamestown I think it was the year of 1974/1975. Adrian was pulling the wheelbarrow full of woodchips, and we all placed the woodchips on the nature trail. During this time, Adrian would be telling jokes, laughing and singing. He had beautiful curly hair, round face and a beautiful smile. I will miss his facebook messages, funny jokes and his love for Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior. RIP, my homeboy and friend!

To The Bass Family, I will truly miss my dear friend and I am so sad. We talked and texted weekly. We would talk about life, family, high school, friends, HP, Atl, sports, laugh, and we even prayed together. I would cook for him after he would get out of the hospital, and he was really appreciative. Please cherish his memories and know that he is no longer in pain. My mother will miss Adrian (FB friends). Rest my friend! Love! Rosalyn Gilmer-Flanagan

Words cannot express the sadness I am feeling right now. Adrian was my motivator, pastor, buddy, comedian, and was adopted into the family as 'Cuzin Adrian". The long talks and the visits at holiday time, with my cousin Greg Mebane, were the best. I had just talked with him about 2-3 weeks before his passing and Adrian, being his usual joking self, was laughing about the medication he was under and how good he was feeling. He always made you feel better about calling him when your intent was to check on him!! As I was pondering our age and one day departing this earth, I can still hear his response to me, "Cuzin Elaine, don't be afraid of dying. I've gone there twice and back. It will be okay". I still never imagined it would be the last time we would talk. I will miss you forever, my friend. Until we meet again, keep smiling!!! - Cuzin Elaine Alexander-High Point, NC
