Ms. Selena Chadmon, 84, departed this life peacefully on Wednesday evening November 1, 2023 at WFBH High Point Medical Center. Selena was born on August 7, 1939 to the late William and Bertha Harper. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Ronald E. Harper; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and loved ones too numerous to list who gathered to welcome her home in Heaven.
She graduated from William Penn High School and enjoyed celebrating with her classmates, The Pointers on special occasions. She received her licensed in cosmetology and was employed by Dudley Products Incorporated for many years. With Dudley she worked in High Point, Greensboro, Charlotte and New York, until she retired due to health reasons.
Selena was a loving and caring person whose warm, kind personality attracted others to her. She loved people! She loved her family and had a special love for her nieces and nephews. Selena was a generous giver and was always willing to share whatever she had with others. She was baptized at an early age at Calvary Baptist Church in High Point, NC and later joined High Point Solid Rock Ministries.
Precious memories will linger in the hearts of those who loved her and await joining her in the heavenly reunion yet remain here to keep her memory alive. They include: her son, Martin Christopher Berry (Pat); three sisters, Brenda J. Hicks (Donald) of Las Vegas, Neveda, Phyllis Ledwell, and Rev. Diane Harper of High Point; sister-in-law, Betty Harper of Greensboro, NC; four brothers, Melvin Harper, Pastor Kenneth Harper (Teresa), Charles Harper of High Point, NC and Minister Anthony Harper (Latrenda) of Grayson, Georgia; special friend, William Lawrence of Brooklyn, NY. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Her life will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at Phillip’s Funeral Service Chapel, at 11:30 with Pastor William K. Harper officiating. Family visitation will be at 11:00. Interment will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.
Praying God be with my family after Aunt Selena has gone to her heavenly home and may she rest in peace. Love you Auntie!
