Ms. Genashia Gaines, 24, passed away on February 26, 2024. She was a beloved daughter, sister, and mother who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Genashia was born to Keshia Gaines and Garry Gaines, Jr. and was a cherished sister to Quaneshia White, Garreshia Gaines, Quavviues Gaines, and Jaquae Gaines. Above all, she was a devoted mother to her two precious boys, Jessiah (who preceded her in passing) and her two-month-old son, Sy'lynn.
She had a passion for drawing, using her creativity to express herself and bring beauty to the world around her. Genashia was known for her outspoken nature and unfiltered honesty—she spoke her mind fearlessly and lived life unapologetically. Her strong spirit, sense of humor, and deep love for her family will forever be remembered.
A service to celebrate Genashia’s life will be held Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 3:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
Genesha’s favorite color was burgundy, and in her honor, the family requests that attendees wear burgundy to the service. Family and friends will gather to honor her memory and the impact she made on those around her. Though her time here was brief, the love she shared and the memories she created will live on forever.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.

Condolences from the Norman family.
Genashia, you and your smile brought a ray of sunshine to my classroom that the world is now missing. However, I do know that God offers a much better resting place and light shines eternally there. I'm glad I got to speak to you the last time we spoke and will continue to pray for your son and family's comfort.
