Sandra Lee Ellen Ballard “Pie Juice” McLendon was born on December 21, 1940 to the late Finiston Ballard and Margaret Caldwell Ballard. She gained her wings on Sunday, August 9, 2020 at Adams Farm Living and Rehabilitation Center. She was also preceded in death by one brother, A.D. Ballard; three sisters, Ebenezer Rucker, Evelyn Mays and Evangelist Catherine Stevenson.
Sandra was a faithful member of The Church of Prophecy for over 41 years where she served on the Missionary Department, Band Leader, Ministerial Department, Pianist and so much more. She previously worked at Fli Back for many years and Shipman Family Home Care until her health declined.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, James McLendon, Sr.; sons, Reginald (Desiree) McLendon of Charlotte, NC, Tony McLendon, Christopher McLendon and James (Sherell) McLendon, Jr, all of High Point, NC; daughters, Darlene McLendon-Dixon of Mebane, NC and Sandra (Pablo) Santos of High Point, NC; two brothers, William and Phillip Ballard of High Point, NC; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews whom she loved and cherished dearly.
A private funeral service will be held Friday, August 14, 2020 at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Piedmont Memorial Park, Winston Salem, NC.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.
