Mrs. Linda Renee Moore Artis was born February 3,1963 at Rowan-Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie, NC to Thurman and Essie Futrell Moore. Linda passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning November 4, 2020 at Cone Health Green Valley Hospital in Greensboro, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thurman and Essie Moore; mother -in-law, Barbara Jean Clinard; brother-in-law, Freddie Speight; sister-in-law, Josephine Annette Artis; niece, Trin Fennell.
Linda was educated in the public schools of Hertford County and was a graduate of Hertford County High School class of 1981. She furthered her education at Rowan-Chowan College where she received her CNA1 and CNA 2 credentials.
Linda was employed at A Place of Their Own Group Home. She married the love of her life, James Artis on November 1, 1991. At an early age she attended Menola First Baptist Church in Woodland, NC. IN 2017 she became a member of Calvary Covenant Fellowship Church in High Point, NC.
Linda leaves to cherish her memories her husband James Artis, sons, Roderick Moore (Shannell) Shawn Moore Sr. (Tonya), daughters, Rodericka Jones (Andre) Danielle Artis of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Jailen Robinson, Modeste Moore, Shawn Moore Jr., Makahlen Moore, Caidyn Grubich, Nyles Stewart, Devon Moore, Jaquan Moore, Andre Jones, II and Amari Jones; sisters, Betty Wilson (Charles), Cathy Speight, Katie Fennell (Norfleet), Arlene Moore, Phyllis Moore; brothers, Frankie Moore, James Moore; sisters-in-law, Janet (Tasha) Askew, Judy Artis; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held Sunday, November 8, 2020 at Calvary Covenant Fellowship, 2207 East Green Dr.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.
