Obituary For Mrs. Jessie Collier

Jessie Haynes Collier went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 20, 2022. She was born on October 25, 1933, in Louisville, MS, a daughter of the late Ollie and Clerk Haynes. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lee James Collier; a son, Eugene Collier; two sisters, Minnie Smith and Lucille Gills; and a brother, James Parker.

Jessie lived in the Baker and Zachary areas in Louisiana for 28 years before moving to North Carolina in 2016. She was a housewife who cared for her special son. Jessie loved the Lord.

Jessie is survived by her daughter and caregiver, Minnie Taylor of High Point, NC; sons, O’Dell Collier of High Point, NC, and Willie Collier of Baton Rouge, LA; her grandchildren, Eric Taylor (Kala) of Wake Forest, NC, Derrick Taylor of Conroe, TX, Ashley Collis of Alsen, LA, Andrea Harris of Louisville, MS, Erica Barrow, Tammy Collis, Dominaque Collis, all of Wilson, LA; a host of great-grandchildren; her sister, Linda Jean Thomas of Baton Rouge, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held Friday, September 23, 2022 at 3:30 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. Interment will follow at Guil-Rand Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 3:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.

Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.
