Obituary For Mrs. Ella Nelson

Ella Foster Nelson, 69, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, in High Point, N.C. Ella was born on February 19, 1954, to the late Earl Foster, Sr. and Annie Mae Foster.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Earl Foster, Jr., and sister Rosa “Jean” Lovelace.

Ella was a light that shined so bright to many. She was a gentle and kind soul. Her radiant smile would light up any room she graced and soft voice would comfort many. Ella was a childcare provider in her at home daycare. She was loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. Ella did not meet many strangers and always had a giving heart to help.

Ella began to have declining health and although she did not always feel her best, she continued to share her gracious smile.

Ella is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth R. Nelson, her loving daughter and son, Tinisha Coleman, and Kenneth “Antuan” Nelson, granddaughters Toni Harris and Shanice Coleman, her grandsons, Ke’Shaun Coleman and Roy Norris, great-granddaughter, Meilani Norris, God-son Darrell Hedrick, bonus-grands, Jazz, and Justin Hedrick. Siblings, Annie “Rosella” Thomas, Roosevelt (Judith) Foster, Carolyn (James) Nelson, and Hardy “Mack” (Tammy) Foster. A host of Aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral service will be held Monday, November 20, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at Gethsemane Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.

Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.
