Grandpa - I thought we had more time with you. Just blessed for the years that we got to be in each others lives. Thankful the kids got to spend some time with their great grandpa before you transitioned from this place. Knowing that you're not in any pain and no longer tired helps, "to be absent from the body is to be present with the lord" . Praying for the entire Carter family. Love you forever - Courtney and The Pruitt Family

The Padgett family wishes to extend our sincerest condolences to the Carter family. We offer our deepest sympathy and unwavering support in honor of a lifelong friendship. It is said that people come into our lives for a reason, a season or a lifetime. Well the comradery between two men that brought our families together definitely represents a lifetime. Ecclesiastes 4:9 (NLT) says two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. Our hearts go out to you during this time - praying God's peace, comfort, and lots of love! With caring thoughts, Padgett Family
To Flossie and the Carter Family, You are in my thoughts and prayers. May your loving memories bring you comfort now and in the days to come.
Thinking of you, Linda Linton Winston-Salem, NC
Dad- Being the first born of the first Thomas Carter family which spurned eight siblings, I am the historian, as I have seen it All. During our ephemeral time together, I've tried to capsulize memories of our 65 year association, there's only one that stands above all others, your friendship with James (Janky) Padgett & family and William (Rooster) Martin & family: I greatly appreciate you living us in these distinguished hands for us to continue to flourish and carry on "Our" family name. Roman's 12:10; 1 Peter 2:17 states To love unconditionally, we obey God's command to put on Love or Respect despite the Circumstances. Robbie G. Carter, U.S. Army (Ret)
Daddy-Even though our time together was limited, I have no regrets because life is not about dwelling on the past. It's about living in the present and appreciating a father's lifelong gift of blessing me with eight (8) "amazing" siblings who, in their special way, taught me to have a forgiving heart and untiring soul and to continue dreaming, believing, and becoming. Dad, Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things (1 Corinthians 13:4-7). - Dr. Brett Carter
