Richard Carson Robbins, affectionately known as βBoonieβ was born on September 6, 1949, as the third child of the late Talton Robbins and Ola Mae Robbins. Our cherished brother and uncle peacefully transitioned into Heaven on November 8, 2024, at The Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis, NC.
Richard received his early education through Guilford County School System. He had a profound passion for gardening, which led him to earn a Certification in Horticulture. In his leisure time, Richard enjoyed watching classic Western television shows and engaging in daily conversations with his cousins Brenda, Ezell, and Ronald.
Richard treasured the moments spent with his nieces and nephews, where he enjoyed in sharing humorous stories and doing everything possible to evoke laughter. His endearing habit of insisting on saying βI love you moreβ at least three times before ending a phone call exemplified his deep affection for his family.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his brother Talton Robbins Jr: two sisters, Margaret Gladden and Joann Cardell; nephew, Warren Robbins and niece, Shelly H. Sanders.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his sister, Barbara Harrington of Concord, NC, sister-in-law, Geraldine Robbins of Springfield, MA, nieces, Shelby (Greg) Davis of Concord, NC, Natalie Harrington of Atlanta, GA, Beverly (Trevor) Baker of Springfield, MA, Kathy White of Greensboro, NC , Rose Cook of Robbins, NC , Sherrie Leak of Cary, NC and a host of great nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the care, compassion, calls, cards, and prayers extended to them during this time. Special thanks to his caregivers, Carolyn Lawery and Charles Burns, for their dedicated support.
Memorial services will be held Monday, November 11, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 11:30 am. until 12:00 p.m.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.
