Saddened to hear of the transitioning of my good friend from years past. He was such a sweetheart and no matter what, always had my back. I can still see those Dimples and that twinkle in your eyes when we were laughing, which was often "Tank". I will hold those memories close in my Heart. My Prayers are of Comfort to the Family, Mary,Fr'amily, and Friends whose lives were touched by his physical presence. Rest Peacefullyπ Mercedes "Mercy" Murchison

I thank God for sending Ray to be a supportive companion to my mom, Mary, over these past 9 years. He will be missed on this side but to be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord. To the family, may the God of all comfort keep each of you during this time.

Some times words are just not enough. This is one of those things. To our Family the Armstrongs. Tank was really Family, where ever we were gathered together my brother Tank would always show up and he was always Welcome. I don't come that way a lot but I always looked to see my brother Tank. He will be missed but remembered always. In loving memories,Rick Adams
My sincere condolences go out to the Armstrong Family in time of bereavement. It truly saddens my heart, that you are no longer with us.Ray was a meek & humble man; who diligently took time in serving others.I especially thank him for being that "special someone" in my sister Mary Champion's life. He highly regarded me as his sister-in-law, and I respected that. He often asked me, "You got anything sweet down there"? I enjoyed satisfying his "sweet tooth", by baking cakes & pies.Ray worked & served at Becky & Mary Cafe; then went on to work at Food Lion on N.Main Street. He had a impeccable smile & always greeted one with it.Ray will be missed for sure. Thank you Mr. Ray Armstrong Jr. for just being you, a man who didn't mind being a "Giver". (Time & services) a workman that needed not to be ashamed. Your sincereness will never be forgotten. May you Rest in Peace Mr. Ray Armstrong Jr. "To be absent from the body; is to be present with the Lord". ( 2 Corinthians 5:8). With Love, Viola Gates.
